SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Augustana hockey team got off to a great start last weekend, splitting two games at Duluth.

Friday night they play the first of many more games at Midco Arena this year against nationally-ranked Arizona State.

And the guys can’t wait to hit the ice in front of a fan-base that showed up in record numbers down the stretch last year and into the playoffs.

Garrett Raboin, Augie Hockey Coach says, “This is our home. Playing in front of friendly faces. There’s a home ice advantage that’s starting to take shape here. We saw it at the end of last year and it’s what makes college hockey so awesome. In a venue like this in the way it’s designed. 3,100 seats and it’s able to feel full every night and that energy is something that home team can draw off.”
