SAGLE — Drivers on Highway 95 near Dufort Road should plan for extra travel time this weekend as the Idaho Transportation Department closes a lane for safety improvements.

The southbound right-turn lane on U.S. Highway 95 at Dufort Road will be closed starting at 5 a.m. Thursday through 5 p.m. Monday, while crews widen the lane to make turning easier and safer.

During construction, drivers will still be able to turn right onto Dufort Road via the southbound through lane.

ITD said drivers in the area should use extra caution and slow down. Drivers entering the highway from Dufort should watch carefully for oncoming traffic.

The lane widening is meant to be a low-cost, quick solution to help reduce crashes.
