Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Teddy Swims says he sometimes uses AI when making music and has referred to AI's role in creativity as "truly amazing".

"We've used AI in some things that have been really super helpful for us," Swims said.

The American music artist was speaking at an in-conversation keynote address with longtime manager and creative partner Luke Conway at South by Southwest Sydney (SXSW Sydney) in a discussion facilitated by Lucy Blakiston.

Swims explained that while he was in Sydney, he has producers in LA who were able to use AI to change a song lyric.

"Rather than me going [to] the studio and doing the line 15 times and spending that time and money and effort, he's actually been able to go in and just change the word," Swims said.
