New Delhi: The Rohtak police in Haryana have registered an FIR against the wife of the late Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, her brother, Punjab legislator Amit Rattan, and two others on charges of abetment of suicide and criminal conspiracy in connection with the death of Assistant Sub‑Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Lathar.

SI Sandeep Lathar was found dead with a gunshot wound at his village home on Tuesday evening. A note discovered at the scene purportedly leveled corruption allegations against the late IPS officer, Y. Puran Kumar — who, in turn, had died by suicide in his residence in Chandigarh on October 7.
