EVANSVILLE — It's at a tense and deeply-divided moment in American history that activists and demonstrators plan to once again gather and rally in Evansville against President Donald Trump's administration under the "No Kings Day" banner.

At least two local progressive groups plan to host "No Kings" events Saturday, Oct. 18, as part of a nationwide, anti-Trump campaign that in recent weeks has drawn heated condemnation from Republican leaders and administration officials who claim the gatherings are comprised of radical leftists and extremists.

Earlier "No Kings" protests flooded city streets across the country in June, including in Evansville where the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office estimated more than 1,300 demonstrators gathered outside the city's federal courthouse .
