AIADMK leader and former minister Thangamani criticised the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government for failing to attract Google’s investment to the state during the assembly.

“Despite Google CEO Sundar Pichai being a Tamil, Google has gone to Andhra Pradesh and not Tamil Nadu,” he said.

Responding, Tamil Nadu Minister TRB Raaja said the state is set to receive Foxconn’s investment worth Rs 15,000 crore, which will create several jobs. “Foxconn has many branches and departments. One of them has said they aren’t investing in Tamil Nadu. It doesn’t mean Foxconn investment itself is false,” he added.

Raaja denied claims that the government made no efforts to bring Google to Tamil Nadu, saying, “There are many aspects involved, and I don’t want to discuss them here.”
