A derelict inner-Brisbane pub has been earmarked for restoration, with construction of a new high-rise tower planned directly overhead.
The 136-year-old Broadway Hotel on Logan Road in Woolloongabba has been in ruins since it caught fire in 2010.
It went up in flames again in 2018, and no longer has a roof.
New plans lodged with the state government this week show its owner is seeking to incorporate the heritage-listed landmark into a new 34-storey tower.
The gutted hotel would be completely restored, and reopened as a hospitality venue.
Reconstruction of its original staircase and internal fittings is planned.
An air raid shelter built during World War II and outbuildings at the rear would be demolished.
