HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- The Vanderburgh County Republican Party says it is not on board with Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry's recently adopted budget for the city.

In a statement, the GOP voices concerns about what it calls "financial mismanagement" and "misplaced spending priorities". One of the main concerns with the budget is funding for a new municipal ambulance service. Party officials say the move is a "non-mandated initiative with considerable financial risk" and say that if service revenue projections for the service fall short, taxpayers could bear the burden, potentially leading to an increase in the local income tax rate.
