Drivers are bracing for the worst after the Route 107 bridge between Lynn and Saugus, Massachusetts, was closed indefinitely for emergency repairs.

Traffic was building early Thursday morning with vehicles being detoured around the bridge, which was shut down around 7 p.m. Wednesday after engineers discovered a crack in one of the metal plates that cars and trucks drive on. The plate is structural in nature, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
