Tripura is on the verge of a major urban transformation, as the Tripura Urban Development Agency (TUDA) prepares to begin implementation of three new satellite township projects at Agartala, Udaipur, and Dharmanagar. According to official sources, the site selection process in all three locations is nearly complete, and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is expected to officially launch the initiative very soon.
The ambitious township development plan falls under the Mukhyamantri Satellite Town Development Scheme, first introduced in the 2023–24 state budget with a five-year investment plan of over Rs. 500 crore. The initiative aims to decongest urban areas, promote balanced regional growth, and improve living standards through modern infrastructure and planned development.
