PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A 23-year-old woman from Spring died early Thursday morning after being rear-ended in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 87 south near the Valero plants, according to Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett.
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m., Burnett said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as Elika Rezvani, by thePort Arthur Police Department.
Burnett has ordered an autopsy in the case.
Port Arthur Police Chief Timothy Duriso confirmed that three other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Port Arthur Police Department is leading the investigation.
The highway remained closed for several hours as emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
