(CNN) - A lucky Powerball winner in Texas has claimed the second half of a nearly $1.8 billion jackpot that was the second-largest in U.S. lottery history.
The winner, one of two in the early September drawing, took the one-time payment option, claiming more than $410 million before taxes. The prize was claimed with a trust, which adds a layer of anonymity for privacy.
A representative of the trust says the player won after a number mistake.
While the player usually picks random numbers, this time they chose to play personally meaningful numbers. After buying the ticket, they realized one of the numbers was different than what they intended to choose.
The player realized they had the winning numbers on the way to church the morning after the drawing.
