PROVO — A man was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly made threats directed at fans of a highly anticipated rivalry game between the BYU Cougars and the Utah Utes.

The threats were directed at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, according to Public Information Officer Janna-Lee Holland, with the Provo Police Department.

A probable cause statement for the incident said 28-year-old Christopher Tai Justice was booked into the Emery County Jail on accusations of misdemeanor threats of violence and obstruction of justice after he allegedly made threatening posts on X.

The statement said Justice made several threats on the platform, including “I will be in LES Saturday. Any Ute fan I see is dead. Mark my words,” and “Nah anyone wearing red on Saturday is getting shot.”
