LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Mayor Craig Greenberg made an announcement about the city's Office of the Inspector General on Thursday.

Ed Harness was picked for the role in 2021 after Breonna Taylor's death. Greenberg has now nominated him to serve a second term.

The job is to investigate allegations of LMPD officer's wrongdoings.

Harness' contract expires in November.

Several local organizations had called on the mayor to re-appoint him.
