Crime kingpin George Marrogi was planning a daring helicopter escape from Barwon Prison before fleeing the country on a luxury yacht, explosive court documents have revealed.

The shocking details emerged in the Supreme Court as Marrogi fights to have his prison conditions declared “inhumane”.

A search of his cell uncovered aerial images of the prison and a tax invoice for a yacht, painting a picture of an elaborate breakout scheme.

The convicted criminal had plotted to use a helicopter to break out of the maximum-security facility before making his getaway on the high seas.

The revelations come as Marrogi challenges his treatment behind bars, comparing his prison conditions to those endured by the late South African president Nelson Mandela.
