The judicial commission headed by Gauhati High Court judge, Justice Soumitra Saikia, monitoring the police investigation into Assam’s beloved son and legendary singer Zubeen Garg’s death case, has been expanded with 4 additional members today.

Apart from Justice Saikia, the 5-member commission now includes Additional Public Prosecutor Samudragupta Dutta, Advocates Pallav Kakati, Arnav Biswas, and Bhaskar Sharma.

Notably, this is the first time a judicial commission has been formed under a sitting High Court judge, allowing the panel to point out any mistakes or lapses in the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police.
