Dundee United’s Irish manager Jim Goodwin says a call-up to the senior Ireland squad for wide player Will Ferry was a result of the player’s own hard work – and also Goodwin’s decision to “bombard” FAI staff, including former teammate and fellow Waterford man John O’Shea, alerting them to the player’s quality.
