Police in Calgary are looking for a trio they believe stolen a woman’s credit card and racked up thousands of dollars worth of charges.
Investigators say at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, a man was captured on the victim’s home security camera stealing an unopened piece of mail that had been delivered to her front porch.
Included in the mail was a new credit card, police add.
It’s believed the suspects were able to use personal information from the stolen mail to activate the card and use it to make several fraudulent purchases at several Home Depot store locations throughout the city in the victim’s name.
The victim reported the incident to police three days after the theft, when the bank alerted her about the suspicious charges that has went over the card’s limit.
