ATLANTA — Atlanta's development authority announced the latest approvals from its October board meeting Thursday.

Among the items approved by Invest Atlanta are a $26 million loan to rehabilitate 199 multi-family units at the former Harris Homes in the West End and a $175,000 grant to support building a soccer facility at the H.E. Holmes MARTA station.

The $175,000 grant will go to Soccer in the Streets as part of MARTA's Station Soccer program.

"The development will anchor the free youth programming for 200 players ages 6-12," Invest Atlanta said. FIFA has also previously announced support for the project in advance of the World Cup.

The Harris Homes were a public housing complex in Atlanta that was demolished and has since been replaced by the Ashley Collegetown complex.
