SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - In traditional classrooms, students don’t always get the chance to explore STEAM subjects (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) through fun, hands-on experiences. But the Suncoast Science Center’s Faulhaber Fab Lab has changed all that with its innovative weekend program.

The Fab Lab offers fun and educational STEAM Saturdays classes every weekend for students in grades 2-8.

What makes these classes unique is that they’re designed for students by high school students through the lab’s Student Planning & Education Committee leadership program.

Student-led learning model

Each class features hands-on activities, collaborative challenges, and even the use of high-tech makerspace equipment to explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
