A Belen Jesuit Preparatory School student was located and a firearm was seized after a video surfaced showing him allegedly displaying a weapon off campus, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office .

"We have been working this story all afternoon and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office now tells us they have not only located the student but they have also impounded his gun," officials said Wednesday.

The school responded by increasing security measures at its Southwest 5th Street and 127th Avenue campus.
