VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A popular Oceanfront restaurant is set to close its doors for good in November.

According to a release, Rockafeller's, which has been a seafood favorite on the Rudee Inlet since 1989, will be shutting down after the last customer leaves on Sunday, Nov. 2.

"It has been a great run and business is still strong, but it's time to move on from owning and operating a high-volume restaurant," Elizabeth "BJ" Baumann, the current owner of Rockafeller's said. Bauman has been in charge of the restaurant since 1999 following the death of her husband Frank Baumann, who opened Rockafeller's in 1989.
