(WOWT) - On this day in 1986, a Nebraska volleyball legend was born.
Jordan Larson grew up in Hooper, Nebraska, and is now one of America’s most decorated volleyball players.
During her time playing at Nebraska, she earned All American honors three times. She also helped the Huskers win a national title in 2006.
She even earned the nickname “The Governor” because of her popularity in the state. Larson is one of only two players in program history to rank among Nebraska’s all-time top ten in digs and kills.
After graduation, she joined the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2009 and made Olympic appearances four times.
Larson is now a co-owner of LOVB Nebraska , League One Volleyball’s Omaha-based team.
