Monroe residents are invited to take part in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The walk is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Oct. 18 at Loranger Square Pavilion on E. First Street in downtown Monroe.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony and the walk itself, according to a community announcement. The event will be emceed by Faustino “Tino” Amaya of Amaya’s Fresh Mexican Grill.

“This is a pivotal moment in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
