BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —

Two students were hit by a car while waiting on a school bus Thursday morning in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said the one intermediate and one middle school student in the T.C. Robertson District were waiting for the bus at Bradley Branch Road and Founders Way.

Authorities said a driver turning into the neighborhood hit the students with his car.

The driver left but later returned. The students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

There is no word on if any charges have or will be filed.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating.
