Fox News reported that a swastika found in the office of Rep. Dave Taylor (R-OH) may have been an "optical illusion."

Despite being clearly visible in images obtained by Politico, staffers claimed to Fox News that the symbol may not have been visible to the naked eye. The emblem was found embedded in an American flag that was pinned to a cubicle on Wednesday.

"One source described this as an 'optical illusion.' Another said the swastika was 'easy to miss,'" Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram reported on X.

According to Pergram, "dozens" of congressional offices received the flags. However, at least one office said it threw out the flag because the swastika embedded in it was unmistakable, he reported.

The reporter suggested that there could have been "an effort to deliberately embarrass offices by bringing them an American flag – which featured a swastika which wasn't obvious to the naked eye."
