A man who joined his uncle and brother in the 2010 slaying of a 17-year-old who was stabbed 13 times in Taunton has been granted parole from his life sentence, records show.
The state Parole Board voted to grant release to Etnid R. Lopez, 32, to a sober house within two weeks of the Oct. 7 decision, the ruling said.
Lopez’s brother and co-defendant, Jean Carlos Lopez, was freed in 2020 on appeal and was killed in December of that year , records show.
Etnid Lopez was 17 when he took part in the killing of Tigan Hollingsworth, also 17, on June 25, 2010, the decision said. The two had feuded since middle school, officials said, and Lopez was later convicted of first-degree murder.
