A man accused of plotting a terrorist attack against the Jewish community in Manchester described deadly attacks in Paris as ‘great event’ in conversations with an undercover operative, a trial has heard.
An alleged plot by Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein to kill as many people as they could was said to have been foiled, after a third man they were said to have conspired with was actually an undercover law enforcement operative.
The undercover operative, named only as ‘Farouk’, gave evidence in court for the first time. He spoke from the witness box behind a screen which screened much of the court.
