A 70-year-old man who was struck by a car late last month while crossing the Liliha Street on-ramp to the H-1 freeway eastbound has died, Honolulu police said.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office notified police Wednesday that the man had succumbed to his injuries from the Sept. 30 collision and was pronounced dead, according to the department’s Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section.
Police said the crash occurred about 9:10 p.m. when a 61-year-old man driving south on Liliha Street made a left turn onto the H-1 eastbound on-ramp and struck the pedestrian, who was in a marked crosswalk but crossing against the “Do Not Walk” signal.
