According to the Town of Edson, the Edson Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a commercial building on 1st Avenue that morning, quickly bringing it under control.

The department used two engines and two command units, supported by the RCMP, emergency services, ATCO and Fortis, according to the town.

According to the Alberta RCMP, police checked surveillance footage and identified a suspect seen when the fire was set.
