“Please find attached a letter written by Norman Rockwell in 1975, approximately three years before his passing. He wrote this letter to my son, Eric Pearson, who was 10 years old at the time and a student at Norman Rockwell Elementary School in Warren, Michigan,” wrote Marilyn Pearson to the column seeking a current appraisal for a family treasure.

“Eric had written to Mr. Rockwell to request a sketch in honor of the school’s 10th anniversary. To our delight, we received a personal response along with an original sketch of a small dog — one of the charming figures Mr. Rockwell occasionally included in his work. We are interested in learning the potential value of both the original letter and the accompanying sketch.”
