85-year-old man found dead near burnt vehicle in Fultondale

FULTONDALE, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was found dead in Fultondale Tuesday evening.

Authorities were responding to a brush fire in the 900 block of Ellard Road when they found Major Epting, 85, of Fultondale, next to his burnt vehicle in an embankment near the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A cause of death has not been determined.
