PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Apple Cinemas will soon move into Providence Place mall.
Mark Russo, the attorney in charge of the mall's receivership, announced that Providence Place is looking to enter into a new lease agreement with the movie theater chain.
This comes less than a month after Showcase Cinemas decided it would not renew its lease with the mall next year.
"This represents an important step forward for Providence Place and its future," Russo said. "We're pleased to have reached an agreement with Apple Cinemas — an experienced and growing regional operator — and we're confident this will bring new energy and an enhanced movie-going experience to the mall."
