Police are continuing their search for three con men who scammed an 84-year-old Woodside man out of his Chase Bank card on June 26 – and used the card to charge thousands of illegal purchases, police said. Cops said the unsuspecting victim was inside a Chase Bank branch on Woodside Avenue and 60th Street in Woodside just before 10 a.m. when one of the suspects tapped hum on the shoulder to distract him, while a second suspect switched the victim’s bank card with another card. The two scammers then left the bank and handed the victim’s card to a third man waiting outside the bank, police said. The victim soon noticed unauthorized purchases on his card totaling more than $6,800, police said.
