Washington: John Bolton, a former national security adviser to US President Donald Trump, was charged with storing top secret records at home and sharing with relatives diary-like notes about his time in government that contained classified information.
Bolton is accused of sharing more than 1000 pages of information about government activities with relatives, the 18-count indictment says.

Bolton’s indictment marks the third time in recent weeks the Justice Department has secured criminal charges against one of Trump’s critics.
In defiant statement, Bolton denied the charges and called them part of an “intensive effort” by Trump to “intimidate his opponents”.
