UPDATED, 10/17: SAG-AFTRA is weighing on the brewing controversy over Casting Networks and its plan to charge talent reps and managers for access to its platform.
In an email obtained by Deadline that was sent to “fully franchised agents” late Thursday, SAG’s Professional Representatives Department said it was aware that “some of you may not have received sufficient advance notice of the proposed changes, which may have caused understandable frustration and anxiety.”
Franchised agents are talent agents who have an agreement with the union and must follow its rules and guidelines.
“While SAG-AFTRA continues its discussions with Casting Networks to ensure the company fully understands how these changes impact our nationwide agenting community, we want to inform you of an interim update
