As homes light up with diyas and markets bustle with Diwali preparations, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory that may cast a shadow over the festive spirit. Unseasonal showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect several regions, particularly western Maharashtra and parts of South India, during the peak of Diwali celebrations.
Maharashtra’s Festive Week Faces Weather Woes
From October 16 to 22, districts including Pune, Satara, Ahmednagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, and Sindhudurg are likely to experience intermittent rainfall, cloudy skies, and gusty winds. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for these areas, warning of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.
