JEFFERSON CITY — A 40-year-old Jefferson City man is scheduled for arraignment Friday after a new indictment on six felony charges, including two counts of murder in connection with an Oct. 7 shooting, according to court records.

Michael A. Davis is accused of killing Shawna Davis, 39, and Sofie Mulcahey, 31, after allegedly firing at their vehicle in the 1100 block of Cordell Avenue, according to Cole County court documents filed last week.

Davis faces two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. A grand jury indictment was filed Thursday, according to court records.

Davis’ arraignment is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday in Cole County Circuit Court. A counsel status hearing is set for Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. before Ju
