If the Milwaukee Brewers are to come back and win Game 3 of the National League Championship Series, they’ll have to do it without star outfielder Jackson Chourio.
Faced with an 0-2 count against Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen in the seventh inning, Chourio fouled off a pitch and was in instant visible pain, favouring his right leg as he hopped out of the box.
The 21-year-old was forced to exit and replaced by Blake Perkins, who eventually struck out swinging.
There was no immediate announcement about what specifically forced him to leave.
Chourio has dealt with right hamstring issues this season, missing a chunk of the regular season and leaving Game 1 of the NLDS early.
He underwent an MRI during the NLDS and was able to return to Milwaukee’s lineup for Game 2.
