Mahoning Valley - Armstrong held its eighth annual Avenge Hunger food drive throughout the month of September.

This year, Armstrong customers, employees and community partners donated more than 44,000 pounds of food and nearly $22,000 in monetary donations, volunteered 342 hours and raised awareness via email, social media and television commercials.

Over the years, Armstrong has collected nearly 240,000 pounds of food and raised more than $136,000 in monetary donations to share with local community feeding programs.

Avenge Hunger Month also raises awareness of Armstrong's year-round Breaking Bread initiative to stock local food pantries and soup kitchens for the fall and winter seasons.
