BATH TOWNSHIP, MI – Three people were killed in a plane crash early Thursday night in an area of southern Clinton County.
Emergency crews first responded around 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, to the report of a small aircraft that crashed near the intersection of Clark and Peacock roads in Bath Township, according to a news release .
The township reported three individuals were confirmed to be aboard the aircraft at the time, though it remained unclear as of 8 p.m. what caused the crash or what the intended destination of the plane was.
The Federal Aviation Administration was on scene to investigate the incident, according to the township.
Earlier in the evening, the township’s police department had advised residents to avoid the area, and smoke was reported to be emanating from the site,
