GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This year is the first year the YWCA West Central Michigan has held what it’s calling a ‘Walk for Change’ to stand in solidarity with victims of domestic and sexual violence.

“This is how we support our community. By getting the organizations together,” said Layne Gadberry with fellow non-profit MomsBloom.

Gadberry showed her solidarity with survivors of domestic and sexual violence at Thursday’s Walk.

“We walk tonight because the need is real here in Kent County. It's estimated that law enforcement agencies respond to more than 2,500 incidents of intimate partner domestic violence every year,” said CEO Deb O'Leary.
