BANGOR TOWNSHIP, MI – John Glenn felt like it was pedaling uphill all season.

But the Bobcats knew if they could just get over the hump, they’d be in for an incredible ride.

And, right now, they’re on some kind of roll.

Putting an up-and-down regular season behind them, the Bobcats outdueled neighboring rival Bay City Western 4-1 to capture the Division 2 boys soccer district championship.

“From the start of the season, we believed we could do this,” Glenn senior Ben Cleland said. “We had to overcome a lot of little obstacles on our team. But we finally got together and decided we needed to start winning games.”

After going 24-1-2 a year ago, Glenn toiled around the .500 mark for much of this season – yet finished with a second consecutive district crown. The Bobcats (13-7-2) return
