Andy Zapata scored the go-ahead goal in South Plainfield’s 3-2 victory over J.P. Stevens in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, Group A pool play in Edison.
Nicolas Moran added two goals for South Plainfield. Following back-and-forth scoring, South Plainfield held a 2-1 lead at halftime before Ritam Chaudhuri tied the match 2-2 for J.P. Stevens in the second half.
South Plainfield (5-7-2) will visit Bordentown on Tuesday, October 28, at 4:30 p.m., while J.P. Stevens (7-6-3) will travel to Middlesex on Monday, October 27, at 4 p.m.
