SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New speed limit signs went up in Saratoga Springs this week after the City Council voted to lower the limit from 30 to 25 miles per hour throughout the city.
“I am surprised it’s not already 25 miles an hour,” said Saratoga Springs resident Lori Soderlind.
As the new speed limit signs are not posted everywhere, just yet. Over on Broadway some motorists were still observed going faster than 25 miles per hour. On Union Avenue by the track some drivers were found to be speeding as well. “You know, of course, if you're going 40 miles an hour, it's too fast,” said Hatsational’s Haberdashery Owner and President, Joyce Locks.
The Saratoga Springs City Council approved the new speed limit unanimously back in August in an effort to increase safety. Police data
