NEW BALTIMORE – Rocky Balboa might be the ultimate underdog in sports.
Anchor Bay’s soccer team might have been feeling like a present-day Rocky when it was languishing near the bottom of the Macomb Area Conference Red Division standings after being hit by a rash of injuries.
“When we hit a rough spot in the season with the injuries that every team goes through we were a little bit in disarray,” coach Nate Williams said Thursday after the Tars edged MAC Red rival Macomb Dakota 1-0 to win the Division 1 district hosted by Anchor Bay.
