GRAND LEDGE – Both the Okemos and Grand Ledge boys soccer programs had enjoyed good success in the regular season before meeting in October 16's district final. The Comets and Wolves battled against each other once before, with Okemos coming away with a 3-2 home victory.

The stakes were much higher for the Wolves, playing on the road with an opportunity to capture back-to-back district titles. To accomplish it, Okemos would have to do it without injured star midfielder and captain Jackson Farnum.
