The 70th State Police Duty Meet commenced at the Reserve Police Ground in Buxi Bazaar, Cuttack, Odisha on Thursday. The meet brought together police personnel and trained dogs from across the state.

The event, which will continue till October 19, features a range of professional competitions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and modern policing skills.

A total of 273 police personnel, 43 dogs, and 43 handlers from 34 police districts and establishments are taking part in the meet. The participating dog breeds include Mudhol Hound, Belgian Malinois, Doberman, and Labrador.

Among the dogs, the indigenous ‘Mudhol Hound’ has emerged as the main attraction of the event for its agility, sharpness, and strong sense of smell.
