New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday met the family of Hariom Valmiki, a Dalit man who was allegedly lynched in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli earlier this month, and accused the state government of threatening the victim’s family to stop them from meeting him.

According to reports, Gandhi visited the family’s home to offer condolences and express solidarity after the 24-year-old was beaten to death by a mob over suspicions linked to a spate of thefts in the area. “The government is threatening the family to prevent them from meeting me.
