A local restaurant chain is dealing with a cooler issue after a recent health inspection while also facing a series of repeat violations.

Waffle House, 904 Vandiver Drive, had a drawer cooler not holding temperatures at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Chicken sausage inside the cooler tested at 56 degrees, so the sausage was thrown away and a work order was issued for the cooler.

Routine restaurant inspections happen two to three times per year based on priority and location of Columbia restaurants, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services previously has said. Follow-up inspections happen if a critical violation is found. Restaurants usually can correct noncritical violations by the next routine inspection.
